A great opportunity with MasterBrand Cabinets could exist for you as the Sr. Manager/Director - Stock Materials Planning at our corporate headquarters located in Jasper, IN.Position Summary: The Sr. Manager / Director of Stock Materials is responsible to oversee the procurement of material to support the stock (Aristokraft and Distributed Assembly) business units. The primary goal is to maintain on-time materials availability for the production schedule while minimizing total delivered cost and the level of plant raw material and WIP inventory. To achieve this aim, this role must interact daily with Operations (especially plant materials managers), Sourcing, and Logistics. This person also represents the materials functions in our product development processes. Key attributes of this role are an ability to identify root causes and solve problems, flexibility to work at both a detailed and strategic level as necessary, and a drive to continuously improve processes.Accountabilities: Oversee the procurement process of all domestically sourced materials for the stock division to achieve lowest total cost while assuring on-time availability. Work with sourcing group to insure vendor base meets all quality and service requirements of the business. Monitor, investigate, resolve, and report on all shortages and backorders resulting from raw material outages. Work with logistics department to reduce inbound and inter-plant freight expenses. Supervise and manage all raw inventory control and reduction activities. Facilitate and coordinate WIP scheduling improvements and WIP inventory reduction activities with plant materials managers. Monitor and drive improvement in inventory accuracy results. Coordinate minimization of obsolescence resulting from inventory practices, product discontinuations, etc. Directly supervise activities of the corporate Stock materials department staffmade up of the following: 4 Material Planners, 2 Material Analysts, and 1 System Applications Specialist Coordinate with plant General Managers to indirectly supervise and lead activities of facility Materials Managers. In coordination with the Friedman project team, champion implementation of a new MRP system for the stock materials group. Represent materials group in product development process and lead staff in assuring material availability to meet all new introductions. Drive continuous improvement in the overall materials planning and management function, and identify and drive the adoption of best practices across the various facilities and roles.Click here to apply via the Master Brand Cabinets Career Opportunity PortalJob Experience:Knowledge, Skills and Experience: • Solid capability with MRP and related materials planning and execution strategies.• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.• Solid understanding and significant cross-functional experience in Supply Chain Management (including sourcing, procurement, materials planning, production planning, distribution, and logistics)• A minimum of 8 years experience in the integrated functions of materials management in a high volume multi-step manufacturing.
