Please visit our website at http://www.24hourfitness.com for more informationGENERAL SUMMARY: Provides system administration support for all Oracle Applications 11i environments.  This support includes application of all patches and system upgrades, configuration management of all associated software, troubleshooting and systems analysis associated with the daily administration, and maintenance of multiple process schedulers, multiple servers, and collaboration with software developers and business analysts in implementation and testing of system modifications.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:1.  Database Administration 65%§ Administration and management of a large Oracle Applications 11i environment consisting of a multi-tier architecture with Oracle version 9 and Apps version 11.5.8§ Maintain, optimize and perform capacity planning, including system sizing, forecasting and data base growth for all Corporate Systems Oracle-based applications, and their associated environments.§ Ensure the security and integrity of corporate data by implementing and documenting appropriate standards, procedures and guidelines for data handling and storage.§ Install, maintain and tune application software, environments, and data structures for optimum performance.§ Configure and Load Balance Application Servers§ Clone Oracle Applications Environments§ Configure and manage Concurrent Manager Processes.2.  Technical Guidance  25%§ Consult end-users, business analysts and developers regarding application software performance and use.§ Provide assistance and technical guidance for software development, system, and network engineering staff with regard to application access, database tuning, data integrity and security.§ Transfer knowledge to coworkers through development of procedures and documentation of the environments associated with applications supported within Corporate Systems.§ Act as liaison between Corporate Systems and IT Operations on systems issues.§ Provide on call support.3.   Knowledge Enhancement  10%  § Keep abreast of technical developments and Information System trends by self-study and participation in courses, seminars, and conferences. ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:  The Senior Oracle Applications Database Administrator will have contact with their Supervisor/Manager as well as club end users and internal business analysts.  The Senior Oracle Applications Database Administrator must communicate in a professional manner with employees at all levels of the organization.  No direct reports. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:§ Oracle Applications 11i knowledge required.§ Oracle 9i database knowledge required.§ Proficiency in Red Hat Linux desired.§ Proficiency in TCP/IP LAN/WAN infrastructure and client server hardware platforms.§ Proficiency with UNIX.§ Proficiency with Windows clients.§ Strong systems analysis and troubleshooting skills.§ Ability to meet deadlines.§ Team player.§ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.§ Excellent oral and written communication skills. 2) Minimum certifications/educational level:§ Bachelor’s degree preferably in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience, which should be related to the applications supported.§ Advanced degree preferred 3)  Minimum experience:§  5-10 years system administration, database administration, or software development experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.§  Oracle 11i system administration experience.§  System implementation experience. 4) Physical Requirements:§  Manipulation of computer keyboard essential.    This position description intends to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
