Sr. Specialist-Regulatory

Chanel, Inc., a leader in the luxury goods industry, seeks a F/T Sr. Specialist in Regulatory at our Piscataway, NJ location.

Functional Responsibilities:

·  Review and approve conformity of ingredients, formulas and product profiles for adherence to Federal, State and International regulations.

·  Establish and maintain regulatory data for all ingredients and raw materials based on industry guidelines/restrictions. Review raw material compositions and international regulatory status with global counterparts.

·  Issue ingredient listings and quantitative formula registrations, converting formulas into label declarations by specific ingredient nomenclature.

·  Establish and maintain ingredient/product substantiation files to support regulated claims.

·  Prepare and submit registration documents pertaining to US state air quality regulations.

·  Provide literature searches and regulatory review of publications to assure up-to-date compliance with US and international regulations/emerging trends.

·  Interact and consult with various professional associations to ensure familiarity with current regulatory issues, topics and practices.

·  Establish and maintain MSDS’s for finished products.  Facilitate the availability of MSDS.

·  Coordinate and liaison subcontracted safety and clinical testing conducted in the United States

 

The requirements of the position are:

Bachelor’s degree in related scientific discipline

Minimum of three years related experience

Understanding and knowledge of US and international cosmetic regulations including:  US Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic ActFair Packaging and Labeling ActU.S. State Regulations pertaining to the compliance and safety of practices of cosmetic and OTC products

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Fluency in French preferred.
