We are seeking a Staff Director, IT Services & Operations Management in our IT department in Piscataway, NJ who will function as the lead enabler to ensure IT service quality and operations excellence across the IT infrastructure.  You will lead the 40+ staff to ensure that IT delivers a reliable, economically efficient, highly available, and optimized and performance effective operation while delivering on service level agreements (SLA) as agreed to with our volunteers and staff business user’s requirements and expectations. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Ensures that IT can enable the next generation of technology platforms and desired outcomes in support of our IEEE Envisioned Future.

 

• Ensures a quality oriented software assurance environment, partnering with the IT teams to certify our operations environment. 

 

• Defines and operationalizes a performance dashboard that enables IT to define operational performance metrics and tracking mechanisms to deliver quality services.

 

• Will continually offer and influence IT and OU’s on key performance infrastructure technology opportunities, providing insight and rationale on options and recommendations.

 

• Will be a partner with the Senior IT Leadership team to ensure the IT Strategic Roadmap is aligned IEEE strategic outcomes.

 

• Responsible to articulate to the IT team the key web infrastructure, LAN/WAN, data/voice/wireless/network/unified messaging communications capabilities, email/collaboration communications, server/storage virtualized operation, business continuity plans, offering opportunities for future consideration.

 

• Facilitates ongoing interaction with the IT staff, business staff users, and technical colleagues, vendor partners to ensure an optimized and economically efficient performing infrastructure utilizing best practices.

 

• Operate as a resource, innovator and facilitator in partnering with peers to identify reliable, consistent and cost efficient IT solutions to define strategic project initiatives to move IEEE forward to enable a technology infrastructure platform of the future.

 

• Will inspirationally function as the customer focused, results-oriented and quality centered leader to drive the change necessary to move IEEE forward.

 

• Motivate and inspire an operations and performance team to emanate these skills, characteristics and behaviors to enable a customer centric environment.

 

• Will continually understand where and how the association and technology industries are leveraging technology and infrastructure opportunities to solve business needs to deliver quality solutions to their customers. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• A BA/BS degree is required

 

• Minimum 15+ years computing and software architecture/systems experience.

 

• Organizational experience must include management oversight of a minimum of five of the following functional areas present within the IEEE IT enterprise:  IT technology leadership, presentation and communication skills, strategic service and operations planning, systems operations management, quality assurance testing and operations performance management.

 

• Knowledge of or exposure to the ITIL best practices are highly preferred.

 

• Must be a seasoned technology leader and communicator, in proactively engaging in collaborative discussions and dialogues.
