Staff Systems Integration Engineer - TVI

TVWorks Integration is a division of TVWorks which is jointly owned by Comcast Communications and Cox Communications. Based in London, Ontario Canada, TVWorks is a world leader in settop box middleware and server solutions using OpenCable standards. TVWorks Integration, based in Radnor, PA, is the test and integration arm of TVWorks and GuideWorks. TVWorks Integration specializes in advanced settop platform testing using both OpenCable and traditional cable TV standards.

Summary: This position is responsible for integration test design and planning, scripting, writing and execution of test plans; ensures verification of software and hardware products by locating, isolating and reproducing anomalies, to include but not limited to programming, user documentation, hardware and software systems integration, interface or design defects.

Responsibility:
- Guide and mentor junior level engineers in Quality Assurance, Integration and Test methodologies
- Design, create, and implement integration test suite to support the development efforts of Comcast and Joint Venture (JV) development organizations.
- Actively participate in the development of suitable entrance test case suite to support Consumer Electronics (CE) integration initiatives.
- As required, design create and implement component level test data and test cases or scripts, system level regression test procedures, automated test suites, and test reports.
- Contribute to the development of overall test philosophies and methodologies with an emphasis to improve overall effectiveness.
- Actively participate in ensuring proper execution of regression test procedures and automated test suites and scripts.
- Review and verify requirements and design specifications within the overall product architecture with an emphasis on integration.
- Investigate software defects and problem reports to product owner, providing additional information/support to minimize fix/verification cycle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies
combined with hands-on experience in test
planning, test case and script development
- Practical experience with one or more
testing tools such as WinRunner,
VistaRunner, Quality Center, etc
- Strong knowledge of a formal development
language syntax and logic
- Ability to write software defect reports.
Identify and record the exact sequence of
activities that were performed to produce
software malfunctions
- Ability to clearly and concisely describe
problems in both written and oral forms
- Practical knowledge of one or more bug
tracking applications.
- Ability to work closely with product owners
(internal and external) during all aspects of
the development process
- Hands on testing of embedded
applications, preferably related to the cable
industry
- Theoretical understanding of application
build and configuration management
systems
- Experience with agile development
methodologies. SCRUM preferred.
- Experience with set top box technology for
digital TV.
- Bachelors in Computer Science,
Engineering, Math, or equivalent job related
experience/knowledge as determined by
management.
- Three to five years quality assurance and
development experience based on
management discretion.
