STORAGE ADMINISTRATOR

Install and maintain mainframe storage and tape systems using the functions of SMS, HSM, and HSC/VTCS. Perform capacity planning and performance analysis on the DASD subsystems and virtual tape environments. Make recommendations for improving performance, reliability and functionality of the storage systems. Design appropriate and effective disaster recovery schemes. Perform on-call support on a rotating basis with other Storage administrators. Resolve problem tickets as assigned. 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: College degree in computing science or equivalent experience. Three to four years experience as a mainframe systems programmer specializing in storage and tape systems utilizing SMS, HSM, HSC, virtual tape (STK) and remote copy functions. z/OS-need sysplex environment experience.Ability to provide 24X7 support as part of on-call rotation and flexibility to work outside the normal 8 to 5 business hours as needed. 

 PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Extensive experience with STK Virtual Tape Systems utilizing HSC/VTCS and CAExtensive experience with SMS and HSM managed storage. Cisco switch experience SAN "open systems" storage experience Strong communication and organizational skills
