Strategic Marketing Analyst
Job Description:The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Marketing Strategy Analyst for our office in Worcester, MA.As a Marketing Strategy Analyst you will articulate, research and organize solutions for The Hanover Insurance Group’s most important business issues, especially growth strategies. Your incisive, compelling arguments will provide the basis for important strategic decisions for the company’s senior executive group. You will work as a member of project teams in a stimulating and collegial environment while learning from and being supervised by more senior members of the team, each of whom have extensive insurance and/or top-tier consulting backgrounds. The assignments for the qualified candidate will include: Practical agent segmentation and development of growth propositions/offerings with implications for: Product Development Agent Compensation Strategy Program Development Operational Improvements Predatory programs during market disruptions Product specialties Strategic alliances such as white-labeling product New territory/state entry model Distribution channel broadening or diversification Specialty product strategy (aligned to agent segmentation) with implications for: Establishing clear (more detailed) actions and outcomes for specialty’s role in growth of core distribution Roadmaps for growth of niches, programs, new specialtiesResponsibilities Micro analysis - assessing the internal workings of a firm, including financial and customer base analysis, process and organizational assessment Strategy definition and execution - including market entry or expansion strategies, revenue model and business case development, business requirements definition Presentation development and delivery – Structuring, preparing and delivering presentations for the executive management team. Market and competitive intelligence – Providing management with updates on key market and competitive developments such as regulatory developments, M&A activity, industry trends, etc. Organizational engagement – for all of the above, coordinates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations.Requirements Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or Finance. One to three years of work experience, preferably in strategy consulting, corporate development, investment banking, product management or related field. An ability to think critically about business problems and apply structure appropriately to solve them. Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to influence change. Good teamwork, leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
