TA Coordinator
JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: EMT Associates, Inc., a dynamic small business specializing in evaluation, training, and technical assistance for public and non-profit clients at the local, state, and national level, is seeking a Technical Assistance Coordinator to support the operational functions of the U.S. Department of Education’s Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools Technical Assistance Center. The ideal candidate will be organized, highly motivated, detail-orientated, and self-starting, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
POSITION TITLE: Technical Assistance Coordinator, FTE
SALARY: Salary commensurate with experience; excellent benefits package.
POSITION SUMMARY: The TA Coordinator provides technical assistance on topics relating to emergency management for schools in response to grantee and non-grantee Local Educational Agency inquiries, and assists generally, as needed, with the training, planning, research and development components of the TA Center.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Execute timely and well-documented responses to phone, web, and email technical assistance inquiries from the field on topics relating to emergency management for schools, including the creation of a database of template responses by topic area for wider distribution and dissemination via the TA Center Web site.
· Maintain statistical accounting of inquiries by type of requestor, topic of inquiry, date submitted, date responded, etc. for bi-monthly reporting purposes.
· Regularly compile and report on listserv topical discussions.
· Organize and execute grantee site visit logistics.
· Organize grantee performance call scheduling, and participate in auditing and documenting of performance call content.
· Organize grantee application question and answer calls, and compile responses for Web site posting.
· Create marketing materials and participate in marketing efforts, as needed, for TA services, including attending external meeting and training events.
· Assist in training preparation tasks, and on-site training functions.
· Assist, as needed, in other TA Center training, planning, research and development functions.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS (Please do not apply unless you meet all of the listed requirements):
· BA or AA, or equivalent experience.
· Proficient in computer use, specifically Microsoft Office Products and Internet research.
· Highly organized and attentive to detail, and capable of meticulously maintaining various types of information in multiple database formats.
· Exceptional verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and clients.
· Able to communicate effectively in a team environment while working independently to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
· Positive, enthusiastic, self-starter interested in learning new subject matter (prior knowledge in emergency management not required).
· Available for occasional out of town travel.
