Tape Library Technician/Shipping/Receiving - Urgent

Duration: 1 year + Location: Austin, TX, Skills set: Under minimum guidance, the tasks to be performed include but are not limited to; tape loading and unloading both manual and robotic units of various types; loading and unloading other media devices such as CD, DVD and Optical disk; monitoring activity on system consoles; storing and removing media from specified library areas; auditing storage libraries; packing specified media for shipment to off-site storage; receiving and unpacking shipments from off-site storage; packing media for shipment to third parties; receiving and unpacking shipments from third parties; updating the tape management systems both automated and manual; creating bill of materials for all shipments; verifying contents of shipments to be sent and those received; assisting with disaster recovery exercises; and driving to alternate locations to perform the same or similar responsibilities. Physical requirements: Must be able to lift shipping containers which weigh up to 40 pounds. The ability to reach the top rows of storage racks up to 7 feet tall with assistance of a step stool. Must be able to determine difference in colors used in color coded labels. Skills, experience and education: Must have a minimum of high school diploma, data processing background is not required but is desired. Must have a vehicle with valid drivers license and proof of insurance. Must have the ability to follow procedures, perform problem solving and recommend improvements to the processes.
