Technical Support Analyst - Network Administrator
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Administer and troubleshoot all aspects of high availability corporate network infrastructure. The qualified candidate should have the knowledge and ability to configure switches and routers as well as troubleshoot current configurations at a CCNP level competency. Requires familiarity with VLAN management, VPN (IOS/concentrator/client) and ASA configurations, 802.11x wireless technologies, 802.1x and Cisco port security configurations, extensive knowledge of IP sub-netting and IP services such as DHCP/DNS, in depth Radius knowledge, thorough understanding of EIGRP/BGP and proficiency with Visio. Desired skills would include managing VMPS, Cisco Works, Visio, IP Monitor, MOM and advanced Windows operating systems knowledge (Win2k/Win2k3). Telephony skills to include call vectoring, ISDN trunking, Voice over IP, private voice networking and dial plans. This position is also responsible for providing mentorship to other support tiers. Must also have oral and written communications skills to present to senior level executives, peers, and entry level technical staff. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Configure and document new switches for the corporate LAN. 2. Configure and document routers for remote SOHO locations. 3. Analyze performance issues with Active Directory and SAN environments. 4. Implement enterprise level policies and procedures. 5. Complete understanding of Cisco IOS manipulation and troubleshooting techniques. 6. Router IOS and configuration management. 7. Perform installation and/or maintenance of enterprise monitoring solutions 8. Complete accurate diagramming of the WAN/LAN and maintain accuracy of completed documents. 9. Identify and resolve network connectivity and performance issues. 10. Perform routine system analysis, and develop reporting metrics 11. Provide expert level on-call support. 12. Interface with vendors regarding complex issues, and see through until resolution. 13. Provide training to Operations staff as needed. 14. Implement and maintain high-availability solutions. 15. Perform proactive and predictive analysis. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. BS in Computer Science and 5-6 years relevant experience, or equivalent experience level. 2. 5+ years network administration experience on Cisco Routers, switches and firewalls. 3. 2+ managing and maintaining corporate Microsoft infrastructure. 4. Strong written and oral communications skills. 5. Proven decision-making and problem solving skills. 6. General business knowledge with a background in supporting a retail business environment desirable. 7. Must be flexible and available to provide off-hours/on-call support. 8. Excellent customer service skills. 9. CCNP certification preferred. 10. Strong communications skills (verbal and written). 11. MCSA/MCSE desired. 12. Ability to work in both team environments and as an individual contributor.
