Technical Support Analyst - Server Administrator

The Technical Support Analyst - Server Administrator position assists in the monitoring, troubleshooting, support and reporting of the Corporate Information Systems. They will provide 2nd level support to Level I technicians, ensure work orders are updated and issues are escalated as necessary. Follows established NOC policies and procedures. Works to develop and implement network management tools and processes to improve the NOC capabilities, and to ensure quality service/support is provided. Provide mentoring support for level 1 Technicians. Identifies procedural errors and takes them back to the source or management. Works to ensure that procedures and processes are clear and will be followed going forward. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, proactive monitoring of systems, job schedule review and processing, backup media cataloging, report generation and other duties as assigned. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist in the monitoring and reporting on the health and status of Enterprise Systems. 2. Provide technical assistance and support for Enterprise Systems. 3. Provide correct routing and escalation when situations require. 4. Assist in research/testing/implementation of Monitoring tools 5. Strong organizational & multi-tasking skills – can prioritize workload in a fast paced environment. 6. Assist management with development and maintenance of NOC procedures 7. Provide mentoring to level 1 Operations staff 8. Communicate status of issues with responsible parties and NOC Management in writing and verbally. 9. Contribute to a positive and cohesive team. 10. Ensure proper transition during shift changes. COMPETENCIES: Problem Solving, Dealing with Ambiguity, Time Management, Conflict Management, Drive for Results, Written Communications, Customer Focus, Peer Relationships, Composure, Self-Development QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Minimum 5 year computer service experience in a fast paced business environment utilizing NT/2000 2. Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience 3. Familiar with and capable of practicing basic troubleshooting concepts for Windows Server OS, overall network performance/connectivity and scheduled tasks. 4.
