Telephone Service Representative - FT (6052)

Job Description:Basic Function: Telephone Service Center- Incumbent will respond to incoming customer inquiries via the telephone from current and prospective customers providing product and service information, processing financial transactions, handling customer problems and opening or referring new accounts.  Flexible schedules: Must have availability to work evenings and weekends. This position is located in our Retail Customer Service Department in the Telephone Banking Center. Responsibilities: * Answer all incoming calls for the Retail Service Call Center * Achieve and maintain satisfactory quality monitoring and efficiency goals * Read procedural updates within 24 hours and implement changes as required * Successfully completes and implements learning from all training programs * Maintains satisfactory knowledge of computer systems used in the completion of duties * Ensures management receives timely and complete reports of any systems or product problems that impact the ability to provide accurate and timely information to customers * Pursue opportunities to cross sell bank products and services * Correctly and legibly completes all forms, electronic and paper, required to complete customer requests Basic Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED * A minimum of six months previous sales or customer service experience * Basic keyboarding skills and data entry skills * Excellent verbal communication skills Ideal Qualifications: * Two years previous sales or customer service experience * Previous call center experience * Verbal communication skills in Spanish and English * Past experience working with the GroupWise email system With over 140 years of experience, M&T Bank is considered one of the most highly regarded regional banks in the country.
