This position focuses on coordinating the data proportioned across the testing environments leveraging the test environment infrastructure across all platforms (i.e., Mainframe, AS400, Oracle, etc). Focus on use of sub setting and/or ETL tools for data provision. Coordinate refreshes across multiple environments and Databases, levering their DB background. Consultant will work with Test Team(s) Leads for provision of test environments to support the testing activities to ensures environments have met requirements. Works closely with the Business Analysts, Test Analysts, and Leads from other functional areas to provision environments for execution of the test plans, scenarios, scripts. Partners with the Business Analysts, Test Analysts, and Leads from other functional areas to review modifications, interfaces, conversions and change requests and develop reuse and execution procedures as needed for the test environments.Responsibilities:. Defines the approach/methods for configuration of test data regions and corresponding diagrams.. Identifies configuration of environments at specific points in time and performs configuration verification audits.. Works from requirements and technical documentation and with testing, development, infrastructure and network engineering, and Application Architects to define test environments to support the test models, scenarios, cases, and scripts. . Facilitates the establishment of test environments to handle a library of reusable test suites and supports successful execution and synchronization of Test/QA activities and environments.. Conducts reviews for possible tool solutions for a more strategic approach to provisioning and sanitizing test data.. Identifies and analyzes test region utilization and problems of high complexity and provides metrics into technology recommendations.. Directs activities of others in developing, executing, and verifying test data regions/refreshes/etc across a broad range of client server, web applications, mid-range and mainframe environments.. Leads test environment changes of significant technical complexity ensuring all areas of responsibility are thoroughly tested.. Coordinates and captures test data requirements and optimization activities.. Performs test region assessments and supports system tasks of a highly complex nature with little supervision including research, design, evaluation, and recommendation.. Works proactively and collaboratively with Functional Test, Technical Stability, Test Tool Administration Teams, Infrastructure and Development Teams, and Business Leads to support successful execution and synchronization of SQA/Test activities to the environments.. Utilizes the Master Test Plan and reviews to recommend test environments.. Facilitates the set up of the test infrastructure and facilities, including manual, automation, and regression test environments.. Helps to define and specify implementation standards, methods, and procedures for testing environments. Trains staff on testing procedures and methodologies as well as ETL, data subset and sanitization tools.Qualifications:. Experience with Hardware/Software Systems architecture design; architectural strategy and common framework; hardware requirements definition; technical solutions spanning multiple platforms/protocols/environments.. Experience with source and change control/management tools (such as Aldon, Endevor, PVCS, etc.).. Strong RDBMS (Oracle, DB2, MS SQL) experience.. Experience with ETL and other data tools (i.e. Informatica, IBM DataStage, Princetonsoftech (IBM Optim), IBM Test Data Generator, etc).. Solid understanding of architecture (networks, applications, data, technology, OS, etc.).. Experience with applicable operating systems (such as OS400, MVS, UNIX, WIN 2000/XP, Linux and Sun Solaris, etc.) and associated productivity tools.. Knowledge of testing methodology (white vs. black box testing, function vs. path testing, etc.).. Knowledge of testing tools (such as Test Director, LoadRunner, WebLoad, DB2Database Performance Expert, etc.).. Scripting experience using applicable languages (such as PL/SQL, UNIX Shell, JavaScript, Perl, HTML, DHTML, SOAP, XML, JCL, CICS, etc.)..
