Training Specialist
Arbitron Inc. is a media and marketing research firm serving radio broadcasters, cable companies, advertisers, advertising agencies and outdoor advertising companies. Arbitron’s core businesses are measuring network and local market radio audiences across the United States; surveying the retail, media and product patterns of local market consumers; and providing application software used for analyzing media audience and marketing information data. The Company has developed the Portable People Meter, a new technology for media and marketing research.
Through its Scarborough Research joint venture with The Nielsen Company, Arbitron also provides media and marketing research services to the broadcast television, newspaper and online industries.
We are looking for a Training Specialist to join our Respondent Acquisition & Compliance Operations department in our Global Calling Center.
Responsibilities:Developing and presenting a wide variety of multi-media training and assessment programs, manuals, and job aids to Telephone Interviewers, Supervisors, and other staff as appropriateHelping ensure adherence to survey methodology and Arbitron / Interviewing Center procedures, as well as consistency in execution and communication among multiple calling sitesOngoing needs assessment and progress measurement; providing ongoing performance-related feedback and coaching in individual and group settingsRegularly monitoring calls and working with a variety of staff to positively impact call quality and adherence to established methodology and Arbitron / Interviewing Center proceduresAssisting with training development, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Assurance procedures and measurements
Requirements:3-5 years of progressively responsible experience developing and presenting multi-media training programs to varied audiences. Experience in market research, telemarketing, and/or an automated call center strongly preferred; experience with writing / publications, and graphics a plus. A bachelor's degree is required; master's degree preferred (degree in Journalism, Communications, Adult Education, or related field a plus).Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required; MS Access is a plus. Experience creating web-based training and assessment programs desired; additional technical aptitude is a plus. Candidate must be highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, possess problem-solving / analytical ability, and demonstrate the ability to encourage, coach, and motivate others. Exceptional interpersonal and writing skills are a must, as are written & oral presentation skills. Proven ability to command and lead large and small groups is essential. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Spanish / English bilingual preferred.Due to the nature of the production environment, the candidate must be willing to work a dedicated evening schedule from approximately 3:00 PM until 11:30 PM, Monday - Friday with occasional weekends.
