Position Summary Transportation Research Intern Battelle's Transportation Analysis and Risk Assessment Group (http://www.battelle.org) has a paid research intern position available in our Washington, DC office (near L'Enfant Plaza - Metro accessible) beginning May 2008. The paid, part-time position will support up to 40 hours/week in the summer and up to 20 hours/week during the school year. The desired candidate would be a rising Junior or Senior with a strong interest in transportation research. Position Responsibilities - Supporting research in the areas of transportation statistics, hazardous materials transportation, intelligent transportation systems, and other areas. - Assisting in the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. - Performing literature reviews and conducting telephone inquiries to support research activities. Basic Qualifications High school diploma; working toward Bachelor's degree. Computer skills required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel and Word. No travel required Minimum Qualifications Detail-oriented. Excellent communication (oral and written) skills. Ability to work independently; as well as part of a team.
