UNX Administrator

Job Description:Position Overview: • Provide a stable and current UNIX environment for multiple applications that consist of medium to large Sun Solaris and IBM AIX Servers • Install and maintain UNIX operating system and related software products • Perform regular day-to-day UNIX System Administration functions, including account creation and administration, volume management, patch management, and hardware and OS problem resolution • Design and implement UNIX server solutions • Analyze system performance as it pertains to capacity planning and growth • Provide technical assistance to all other Technology Groups and Business Partners Required Skills: • 3+ years supporting large UNIX systems in a high volume, or critical production environment • 5+ years supporting Sun Solaris and/or IBM AIX, with a strong knowledge of all aspects of the operating systems • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and server network configuration • Strong troubleshooting and problem determination/problem analysis skills • General knowledge of Enterprise class Sun and/or IBM Server hardware • General knowledge of IBM Logical Partitions and HMC Configuration • General knowledge of Sun Hardware Domains and Solaris Zones • General knowledge of UNIX infrastructure services such as: LDAP, DNS, NIS, syslog, etc. • General knowledge of Solaris Jumpstart and/or IBM Network Install Manager • General knowledge of disk storage subsystems including local disk mirrors and SAN and NAS storage • General knowledge of Veritas Storage Foundation/Volume Manager/VxFS • General knowledge of IBM Logical Volume Manager • General knowledge of UNIX security • General knowledge of managing large Oracle database servers • General knowledge of Red Hat Linux AS/ES • Ability to write and troubleshoot UNIX shell scripts • Ability to handle on-call duty as well as after hours and weekend maintenance windows • Knowledge of IBM WebSphere administration is a plus • Knowledge of Veritas VCS is a plus • Knowledge of IBM HACMP is a plus • Knowledge of Red Hat Linux Kickstart is a plusPlease visit the Careers section at Regions.com to submit your resume to this position.Click here to apply via the Regions Career Opportunity PortalExpected Travel Time: None
