UPW/IWT Supervisor
Job Description:Qimonda North America is seeking an UPW/IWT Supervisor for its Richmond, Virginia facility. Directs all aspects of the Ultrapure Water and Industrial Wastewater Operations for a multiple building manufacturing site. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead 24X7 central utility plant multi shift operation. Must be able prepare, maintain and control an operational budget. Provide administrative & supervisory direction to assigned personnel. Conduct daily and long term performance analysis of all ultrapure water and industrial wastewater equipment & systems. Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe, efficient, and cost effective manner. Accountable for ensuring technicians are trained and can react in accordance with procedures. Track equipment down time, repair status, monitor, ensure compliance and refresh system operating procedures. The UPW/IWT Supervisor must be able to demonstrate a diverse technical background, advanced troubleshooting, critical thinking and decision making skills under adverse conditions to resolve equipment, system, and/or personnel issues. Must be able to communicate/present to all levels of the organization. QUALIFICATIONS: Vast knowledge of the ultrapure water and industrial wastewater equipment operation & maintenance. Thorough understanding of mechanical & electrical engineering principles. Fundamental knowledge of industrial water treatment chemistry. Advanced personal computer skills. Experienced with contracted service operations. Successful supervisory experience with multi-shift workers. Ability to effectively track expenditures of work group. Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills. Willingness to be on call to support 24/7 responsibilities.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Facilitate an environment where staff can perform responsibilities and duties at a high level. Provide direction that aligns with department’s vision. Establish department and individual targets and objectives that enhance department and individual growth. Be accountable for department policy, guidelines, and procedures to ensure consistent methodology and understanding across shifts. Responsible for identifying, and forecasting budget and department training needs. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience including: Minimum of two years front line supervisory experience in an industrial operations or maintenance environment. Minimum of seven years experience operating and maintaining multimedia filters, reverse osmosis units, ion exchange resin beds and associated regeneration systems, UV units, ultrafiltration units, hydrofluoric acid waste treatment systems, and filter presses.
