User Experience DesignerThis position is a dynamic opportunity within a growing group within NAVTEQ, the world leader in digital map data.  We provide innovative media solutions utilizing maps as a platform for the visualization of content.  As part of a global, collaborative team, you will develop and implement products for new content group within NAVTEQ located in Washington, DC.In this position you are expected to foster and support a collaborative, innovative culture, working closely with product managers and technologists to define the user experience strategy, spearhead a user centered design process and develop usable, useful and compelling web experiences.Responsibilities include: o Identify UI requirements, define project approach and scoping and author the user experience strategy o Set conceptual design and product direction based on field research and functional requirements o Create and be accountable for the user interaction model, workflows, information architecture, schematics, prototypes and interface guidelines o Work with user experience researchers to design and observe usability studies and translate the findings into design improvements o Work hand in hand with the project team to deliver the final productMinimum Job Qualifications: o Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Factors, Interactive Design or related area o Ideally 5+ years experience as a key member of a UI team participating in the complete product development lifecycle of several successfully launched web and/or software applications o Must be process driven, demonstrate strong interaction design skills and have a solid understanding of user centered design principles o Able to develop new approaches to complex design problems and can convey ideas into tangible form o Must communicate clearly and effectively to varying audiences; have strong analytical skills; have excellent interpersonal skills; able to collaborate actively with others in a cross-functional team o Organized and able to act independently o Works well under pressure and able to meet aggressive deadlines o Able to switch rapidly between different projects in a fast-paced environment o Must have solid understanding of web design with working knowledge of HTML JOB TITLE: User Experience Designer COMPANY: NAVTEQ LOCATION: 20001 STATUS: Full Time, Employee JOB CATEGORY: IT/Software Development CAREER LEVEL: Experienced (Non-Manager) EMAIL: Apply by Email
