To learn more please visit us at www.polyone.com GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the Shift Supervisor’s direction, this position is responsible for assisting in cleaning production equipment to prepare the equipment for the next production run. Cleaning can range from washing out equipment to taking equipment apart and cleaning with brushes, abrasive scrubbers and solvents. This position will support all manufacturing lines. This position will also be responsible for packaging finished product in boxes, bales or bags. This position is located in Seabrook, TX. This position is the entry level position into manufacturing operations. Applicants must be able to work any shift in a continuous operation manufacturing environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Following identified procedures and verbal instructions, fully clean and prepare manufacturing equipment for the next production run.- Following identified procedures package finished goods into boxes, bales or bags. Label finished product and stage material for movement to warehouse.- Refer issues/problems to supervisor for disposition.- Complete and maintain all required documents- Follow and comply with all safety, work rules and regulations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. - Requires high school diploma or GED equivalency- Ability to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/material identifications- Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply, divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance- Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group situations- Must have ability to reason and address problems- May require obtainment of a Fork Lift Operator's License- Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of small hand tools, scales, spatula, barrel cart, hand trucks, fork lift, utility knife.- Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc- Core Competencies include Safety/Housekeeping, Quality of Work, Quantity of Work, Position/Work Knowledge, Initiative, Reliability, Attitude, Teamwork, and AttendancePHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and/or hear- Occasionally required to sit- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally handle up to 100 pounds- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus- Work is inside and the typical noise level is loud- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
