Veritas Backup Engineer

Job Description:We are looking for a high-level backup admin specializing in Veritas. The person will be taking escalations on failed/troubled backups to troubleshoot on the backend. Job Experience:The Backup Engineer is responsible for supporting the Enterprise Hosting backup infrastructure focusing on a Veritas Netbackup environment for the Technical Operations group. This includes the ability to scope, plan, install, migrate, etc. Must be able to size and integrate Enterprise Tape subsystems and libraries into a heterogenous server/storage environment.. Veritas Netbackup Experience: - At least 3 years experience with Veritas Netbackup Datacenter - GUI and command line utilities - Clustered master server environment - Knowledge of Veritas VCS and Volume Manager to support Netbackup - Patch maintenance with a clustered master server - Experience in a muli-homed environment. Basic understanding of Storage Area Networking (SAN) technology, including storage provisioning, LUN management, zoning, performance management, and volume management. Shell or Perl programming and scripting (proficient) . Experience with support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for tape backup and SAN environments . [Preferred] Experience with Microsoft Exchange in relation to Veritas Netbackup. [Preferred] Knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle databases in relation to Veritas Netbackup. Related Software Experience:SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Windows, RedHat Linux, SUN Solaris 9/10, Veritas Clustering, scripting (PERL/PHP etc.)"
