WC Claims Specialist/Adjuster

This position can last for 30 days or more. Hours are Monday through Friday 9a-5p. The pay rate is between $15-$18 per hour depending on experience. QUALIFIED APPLICANTS must have 2-5 years Workmans Compensation Claims Adjusting experience however our client will consider someone with 1-2 years Workmans Compensation experience, knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices, analytical skills necessary to make decisions and resolve issues inherent in the handling of claims, ability to successfully negotiate the settlement and disposition of claims including the ability to interpret related documentation, ability to effectively operate a personal computer and related claims and business software. Essential job functions include but are not limited to: 1. Exercises proper judgement and decision making to analyze the claims exposure, to determine the proper course of action and to appropriately settle the claim. 2. Interacts extensively with various parties involved in the claim process. 3. Ability to think critically, solve problems, plan and organize activities, serve clients, negotiate, effectively communicate verbally and in writing and embrace new challenges. 4. Handles claims consistent with clients and corporate policies, procedures and best practices and also in accordance to any statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements. Documents and communicates all claim activity timely and effectively and in a manner which supports the outcome of the claim file. Must have a professional demeanor and verifiable work history and be able to submit to and successfully pass a criminal background check if selected for the position.
