WEB DEVELOPER II

NAVTEQ is the leading provider of digital map data for Vehicle Navigation, Internet & Wireless applications and Business Solutions. Cutting edge applications such as these are part of a growing set of applications that enhance consumer's access to information while they are mobile. We have coined the term informed mobility' to represent this emerging need.  NAVTEQ data is used in virtually all of the leading navigation systems in both North America and Europe. Our customers rely on NAVTEQ digital map information for use in their applications based on its accuracy, detail and completeness.  We are currently looking for a Web Developer II – in Washington, DC. Responsibilities: Design, prototype and implement modern UIs and tools for creating and managing complex map and event related content Collaborate with team members on design and implementation reviews Evaluate design implementations delivered by local and offshore developers Provide weekly status reports to project manager describing accomplishments Follow department software development guidelines and processes Requirements: BS degree in Computer Science or related field 5+ years of interactive Web UI design Strong knowledge of AJAX (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, RIA, etc.) Strong knowledge of Web Services and APIs Ability to quickly prototype certain designs as a proof-of-concept Working knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows based operating systems Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Developed analytical and multi-tasking ability Ability to effectively function in a team environment Familiarity with other frameworks is a plus (ASP.Net, Ruby on Rails, etc.)   NAVTEQ is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer M/F/D/V JOB TITLE: WEB DEVELOPER II COMPANY: NAVTEQ LOCATION: 20001 STATUS: Full Time, Employee JOB CATEGORY: IT/Software Development CAREER LEVEL: Experienced (Non-Manager) EMAIL: Apply by Email
