Job Summary:
Lead and direct the efficient operation of warehouse distribution facilities including; Logistics, Human Resources, Inventory Control, Facility/Equipment maintenance, Quality Assurance, Sanitation, Safety, and Security. Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities:Cultivate exceptional leadership skills of all Warehouse Management staff through collaboration with Corporate Training and Development team in the design of employee performance development plans. Direct, coach, mentor and guide staff members in the execution of PDPs. Ensure that progressive coaching and counseling concepts are conducted according to established policies and procedures to increase employee retention and improve employee relations.Partner with Human Resources Management to design and implement succession planning and leadership development strategy, ensure proper staffing levels are maintained to meet business demands, provide guidance and consultation to managers and supervisors pertaining to employee relations issues, interpretation of Company policies and procedures, and compliance to applicable employment laws.Develop, lead, and implement strategic and tactical objectives in direct alignment with corporate goals and annual operating plan for profitability, and quality customer service initiatives. Identify and lead initiatives to improve operating efficiencies and reduce costs.Prepare annual budget forecast, analyze and adjust quarterly budget based on business requirements.Develop effective business partnerships with all internal C&S department leaders and facilitate cross functional activities to meet or exceed established annual operating plans.Direct subordinate Management team in the efficient and safe operation of Warehouse activities. Develop and implement action plans in collaboration with Corporate management for safety, security and sanitation functions to achieve safe operating objectives.Quality interaction with Customer related witness audit performed on selection side, witnessed by customer. Reduce or eliminate shrink managing inventory to highest specifics manage inventory control processes minimize exposure. Maintain positive customer relationships through timely management of customer requirements and pro-active management of problem resolution.Foster positive community relations in support of philanthropy programs. Sponsor local community events such as make a difference day, Rotary Club activities.Maintain compliance to all federal, state and local regulations and guidelines including but not limited to; OSHA, COOL, GMP, HAZMAT, HAAPP and the bio-terrorism Act of 2002.Direct labor relations activities, address Union organization activities and establish and maintain positive relationships with Union Representatives.Oversight of Safety Committee initiatives.Participate in planning and execution of disaster recovery efforts.Support Merger and Acquisition efforts.Assist and support peer General Managers as required.
Job Requirements:BA degree in Business or Logistics Management or the equivalent combination of training and experience in a related field. (BA is highly desired)Minimum of 8-10 years progressively responsible experience in a related operations management function. In depth experience with warehouse management functions and a significant combination of disciplines including, Quality Assurance, Equipment, Building and Grounds, Maintenance, Sanitation, Human Resources, Safety and Training.Thorough knowledge of and experience in managing all sanitation and food safety regulations as defined by GMP. Knowledge of and experience in the principles and practices of all federal, state and local guidelines resulting from the bio-terrorism Act of 2002.Demonstrated experience in addressing Union organization activities.Knowledge of Warehouse safety regulatory standardsBasic proficiency with personal computer operations. Basic operational knowledge of MS Office applications.Demonstrated proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems; voice recognition and Inventory control.Broad based business acumen and experience with development of Fiscal Budgets and a thorough understanding of P&L statements.Presentation skills and the ability to prepare and communicate statistical data to Executive Management and to convey operational requirements to Warehouse staff members.Strong analytical ability required to gather and analyze trends, industry data and competitive issues.Relationship Management - Demonstrated proficiency in customer and vendor relationship management including investigative problem solving, mediation and negotiation techniques.Strong Leadership skills including team building, coaching and mentoring for personnel developmentFluency in the English Language skills. Secondary language a plus.Ability to work effectively in a high energy, fast paced, customer service environmentDemonstrated interpersonal sills and conflict resolution abilities sufficient to communicate performance expectations and motivate and retain staff members.
