CHENEGA OPERATIONS SERVICES, LLCJob DescriptionCompany Job Title: Warehouse TechnicianChenega Job Title: Technician II, WarehouseLocation: Whiteman AFB, Missouri Reports To: Clyde MillusFLSA Status: Non-ExemptPrepared Date: May 1, 2008SummaryWarehouse Technicians are responsible for the proper storage of all hazardous materials (HM) both inside the warehouse and in outside bulk material storage areas, including chemical segregation, shelf life, and material condition. Must be able to complete and pass 24-hour HAZWOPER certification and corresponding refresher in initial attempts. Additional requirements are as follows: display a professional customer service attitude at all times; receipt of “A” stock material from Material Management Center (MMC) as well as excess reusable material from various sources; monitor shelf life of HM and extend as required in accordance with current directives; issue HM as directed by customer request, in an expeditious manner; ensure that all HM has been properly labeled with various material control labels; accurately locate HM in warehouse; receive empty HM containers from customers and after processing paperwork, properly disposing of containers and maintenance of Daily/Weekly Inspection Logs. Additionally, the Material Handler will ensure compliance with all regulations; maintain a clean and neat warehouse at all times; act as the primary forklift operator for the HMCC; perform all assigned tasks in a safe manner; maintain compliance with all USAF, federal, state, and local hazardous material and hazardous waste regulations related to operations of the HAZMART along with logistics requirements; and other general tasks as assigned by the facility on-site supervisor. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Education and/or ExperienceCandidate must have a high school diploma or a GED. Experience in general warehousing operations involving material receipt, storage, and issue. Must have knowledge of Air Force supply system, material receipt, storage/issue procedures, experience in loading/unloading cargo vehicles up to 5 tons, and maintain a valid Drivers License, able to receive security clearance if needed, and the ability to obtain a CDL with HazMat endorsement when/if needed. Ability to follow established procedures and carry out assignments independently, although work is primarily in an warehouse environment that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, incumbents may be subjected to rain, cold, bright sun etc. Must be trained and qualified in forklift operations and safety requirements.
