  POSITION:  Waterworks Estimator/Coordinator

REPORTS TO:  Branch Manager

  LOCATION: Wenatchee, WA

WAGE: (based on knowledge and experience)

 

 I.  PURPOSE

 

  To support and generate sales at an acceptable margin within the waterworks product lines

  by providing technical knowledge and support to the customer.

 

II.  PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

A. Bid desired projects.

-  Coordinate all project bids with outside sales, RSM, DM and BOM.

-  Contact engineers/designers about any specifications in question.

-  Obtain special quotes from manufacturers when necessary.

-  Contact project owners for updated plan holders list.  Assure that UP&S quotes all

contractors that are in UP&S's best interest.

-  Follow-up on bids submitted to assure that UP&S bids are accurate and competitive.

 

B. Keep other branches apprised of customers who are bidding projects within their territories.

 

C. Quotations

 

1. Do material take-offs.

 

2. Provide pricing. Coordinate with other UP&S personnel as necessary.

 

3. Be available to answer customer questions.

 

4. Follow up on informal bids.  Transmit bid information to BOM, DSM, outside and other

inside sales people as appropriate.

 

D. Work with Purchasing to coordinate special purchases for projects.

 

E. Assist outside sales people and inside sales people to answer questions, close sales and

  write sales orders.

 

F. Other duties as assigned.

 

III.  JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

  A. Maintain a solid and current knowledge of the product line, its uses, new offerings, etc.

 

  B. Computer literate with the ability to develop excellent knowledge and skills in UP&S's

  order entry and related computer systems.

 

  C. Good math and verbal skills.

 

  D. Excellent public relations skills.

 

  E. Ability to work as a part of and enhance a sales and service team.

 

  F. Must be a self starter.

 

  G. Must have good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.

 

  H.  Work within the Safety policy of United Pipe & Supply.
