Director, Front of House Operations
Jazz at Lincoln Center, the world's largest not-for-profit arts organization committed to promoting the appreciation and understanding of jazz through performance, education, and preservation, is now seeking a Director of Front of House Operations.
Responsibilities:
Front of House
· Manage full time House Manager and 2 Performance Managers, ensuring audience satisfaction and safety.
· Oversee all activities and procedures of the ushering staff, (part time staff of approximately 75 and Artist Assistants) including supervision of scheduling, training, and evacuation procedures, ensuring regular training schedule. Work with house staff on maintaining current and accurate Usher Manual and regular training seminars. Staffing for individual events will be done in coordination with FPRH Scheduling and Production departments.
· Approve weekly usher payroll and compile statistics on ushering costs and associated budgets throughout the year.
· Oversee activities of pre-show and intermission catering, in coordination with in-house caterer.

· Ensure that the relationship between the three parties (catering, programming and hall management) are well structured and effective, with appropriate protocols and operating procedures articulated and disseminated;
· Ensure a consistently high level of patron satisfaction;
· Ensure accurate and timely statistical data and end of night financial reporting;
· Coordinate activities of DCCC with other events in the facility;
· Budget and control financial reporting of the club, and integrate costs associated with programming and generated by Artistic Programming into that budget .
Box Office
·Oversee Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer and 3 Tellers. Work with treasurer on staffing requirements and scheduling. Submit box office payroll on weekly basis.
· Work with internal and external clients on ticket order submittal and oversee client ticket needs through end of show. Work with internal departments to get tickets on sale through 3 in-person, phone and online outlets. Coordinate ticketing and show information with Marketing personnel for bi-monthly advertorial vehicles.
· Work with Box Office personnel on establishing as needed reports and compiling statistical data.
General
· Work with internal and external clients on audience flow and special security needs. In multi-flexible spaces, approve public assembly diagrams based on needs of clients and code.
·Advise and assist in all appropriate union negotiations for covered workforces.
·Direct all personnel in compliance with JALC Human Resources specifications.
· Develop, monitor and maintain budget parameters of departments directed, as well as recommend cost saving alternatives in all responsible departments.
·Direct the creation and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures.
· Participate in and coordinate aspects of rental settlements.
·Work with Building management and Retail components on related issues.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years front of house experience in a managerial capacity and demonstrated and proven fiscal management in a performance arts venue required. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, has exceptional management and organizational skills, a demonstrated excellence in customer service, and excellent written, verbal communication and inter-personal skills.
