Facilities Manager
Facilities Manager sought for arts organization restoring a landmark building and creating a new venue within. The Facilities Manager, reporting to the Director of Facilities, will run day-to-day operations of the building. This is a good opportunity for someone with a few years of relevant supervisory experience to do and learn all aspects of operations. The position requires a person who is hard-working, savvy, flexible, and willing to learn.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform or quickly learn each essential duty listed below.
· Working knowledge and experience of heating, boilers, air conditioning systems, electrical systems, building and grounds maintenance and equipment repair.
· Ability and understanding of various Federal, State and City codes and regulations involving construction, installation, fire, safety and sanitation.
· Ability to meet with service contractors and vendors regarding the negotiation of contracts, agreements and guarantees.
· Ability to set priorities and make appropriate decisions on repairs or assignments contingent upon availability of parts manpower.
· Ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions.
· Ability to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments.
· Ability to develop and implement a site safety program.
· Ability to be physically active, climb ladders, lift objects.
· Ability to be subjected to various environmental conditions.
· Ability to supervise and train subordinate employees.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as construction drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to speak effectively and write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to work at hand.
. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use a computer. Good knowledge of PC operations and software (Word processing and spreadsheet) are required. Ability to provide basic support to other end-users and call in network support is required. Good typing skills are also required.
