Software Engineer
The Associated Press seeks a Software Engineer for its New York City headquarters.
Join an innovative and talented team of developers responsible for implementing business applications. This role is a very hands-on technical expert responsible for configuring and customizing off the shelf business applications such as Microsoft Dynamics AX.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Gather, analyze and evaluate information about existing or proposed enhancement requests Modify and support Microsoft Dynamics AX configurations and customizations Create design documents to support proposed configurations Create technical documentation and user documentation that describe the software application and capture important knowledge acquired during the design and implementation process Create detailed test plans and test cases Assist QA personnel in identifying and resolving software defects
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field required 3+ years of hands on application development experience 3+ years of hands on experience with object oriented programming using the .Net framework Axapta configuration experience preferred, but not necessary Experience with all stages of the software development life cycle Ability to work on multiple, simultaneous projects Strong analytical and problem solving skills Skilled at organizing and translating information into clear written documentation Creative, innovative with an eagerness to learn and share ideas High motivation level and superior attention to detail Proficiency in problem solving; a self-starter with excellent written/verbal communication skills and strong client service philosophy Experience in writing technical specifications and use case documentation Experience with MS Visio, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Powerpoint, Photoshop Experience producing test documentation such as test plans and test cases Ability to work independently and as part of a team
