Safety Coordinator

SAFETY COORDINATOR

 

Position Functions:

·  Assist with the creation of safety DVD scripts and involvement of the filming process.

·  Contribute to the development and communication of the Safety Incentive Program contest.

·  Select and notify Safety Incentive Program prize winners

·  Manage the Shoes For Crews (anti-slip, anti-fatigue) program.  This involves selecting promotions throughout the year, communicating with field personnel, paying invoices, confirming payroll deductions, and updating styles and pricing. 

·  Solve safety issues communicated through the Report of Potential Hazard forms.

·  Help prepare presentations for various events including Workers' Compensation conferences, new Area Supervisors presentations, Director Safety updates, etc. 

·  Update and maintain the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) Program.

·  Interpret State Board of Cosmetology and OSHA regulations to ensure compliance in our salons.

·  Communicate with the field and OSHA inspectors on safety issues.

·  Distribute quarterly reports to all Area Supervisors and Regional Managers.

·  Complete various salon surveys (Hazardous Chemicals, Fire Department, city water, etc.).

·  Complete and allocate Accident Investigation forms on a weekly basis.

 

Requirements:

·  Bachelors degree

·  Experience in State and Federal safety regulations

·  Must be PC proficient

·  Organized and detail-oriented

·  Ability to interact with all levels of management and field personnel

·  Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

·  Must be self-motivated, flexible, and have a positive attitude

·  Team player
