Senior Oracle Business Analyst
Stewart Enterprises, Inc., the second largest provider of products and services in the death care industry, has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Oracle Business Analyst.
Responsibilities include:Position requires a driven critical thinking analyst who wants to help define and improve HR / Payroll operations and processes through the implementation of business systems. Responsible for analyzing business problems to formulate and scope optimal solutions Must have a good understanding of HR and Payroll systems, reporting and IT standards Must be capable of working at the highest technical level of most phases on systems analysis, while also thinking of the bigger picture and assessing the business implications for the long term Support business subject matter experts with initial defect identification and documentation Liaison between business and production support resources on defect resolution Responsible for managing mandatory HR / Payroll patching initiatives to include: patch impact analysis,validate patches, through testing approach; do not introduce defects to existing functionality and customizations, manage patch promotion through required support environment and into production Responsible for adhering to documented SOX processes when performing project and production support migration activities Provide guidance to stakeholders on effective and efficient approaches to achieve project objectives and improve business process Develop documentation of business and user needs, and systems requirement specifications. Creates roadmap of system features Support efforts to assess business value and strategic priority of projects Develop report specifications Prepare and drive work project plans Participate in acceptance testing and implementation of information systems
Qualified candidates will have the following:Good knowledge in Packaged ERP solutions like Oracle E- Business suite/PeopleSoft/SAP 5+ years of knowledge and experience in general HR / Payroll business practices and procedures 5+ years of knowledge and experience in the use of techniques for business process analysis and systems design Experience and ability to lead and conduct requirements gathering, module design and defect resolution Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers Ability to prioritize workload, build and maintain quality Able to effectively communicate business needs to technical resources Understand business needs and how to apply technology to address the business issues Work well with teams or in a team environment Ability to think logically in solving problems Ability to write and execute SQL queries Excellent written and verbal communication skills Prefer 2+ years of Oracle E-business suite 11.5.x experience (Oracle HR and Payroll module) Good knowledge of HR, Oracle Standard Benefits, Oracle Time and Labor, Oracle Payroll Prior consulting experience a plus SOX environment experience a plus
