Tax Accountant - International

Tax Accountant-International

 

The Tax Accountant-International will assist the International Tax Supervisor with reporting the US taxation of Regis’ international operations as well as local taxation in each country in which Regis operates.  Primary responsibilities include preparation of Canadian and Puerto Rico returns, preparation of UK and Canadian estimated tax payments, assist with preparation of foreign tax credit, and preparation of Forms 5471 and 8858.  The position reports directly to the International Tax Supervisor.

 

Responsibilities:

· Maintain current knowledge of the tax laws affecting the Company

· US tax compliance with respect to international operations, including foreign tax credits and

  Forms 5471 and 8858, and income tax compliance with respect to Canada, Puerto Rico, and

  other countries

· Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual FAS 109 reporting, including international

  effective tax rate, tax footnote and other disclosures

· Maintain current knowledge with respect to Sarbanes-Oxley, FAS 109, FIN 48 and as well as

  required recordkeeping for international operations

· Assist with Federal and international audits, including drafting of responses

· Research US and international tax laws and issues

· Insure that the department complies with Sarbanes-Oxley controls

 

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; advanced degree in taxation/law degree a plus

· At least 1-2 years of corporate tax experience with a concentration in international taxation

· FAS 109 experience and exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley controls a plus

· Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of company personnel and outside

· vendors

· Candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, have a positive attitude and be a team player

· Experience with MS Office and RIA InSource CS or other income tax software is required

· Experience with BNA fixed asset software, JDEdwards general ledger system and/or

  Hyperion is a plus
