Account Manager
DC Comics seeks an Account Manager, DC Direct for the DC Toys & Collectibles department. Position will analyze the marketplace and competition to identify opportunities for sales growth and account expansion. Recommend strategies to lead to domestic and international sales growth. Main contact at DC for DC Direct distributors: sets sales goals and sales strategies, compiles information and writes copy for collateral materials and works with DC Design group to create the materials (sales sheets, posters, stand-ups, signage), provides samples, collateral selling materials, promotional items as needed. Participate in selling activities for new and existing DST accounts – with active involvement in sales presentations, maintaining relationships, negotiating terms and closing sales for targeted large and/or new accounts. Follow-up account administration from close of sale through product delivery. Interface with account on sell-through or other marketplace performance issues. Work with accounts and promotional partners to identify incremental custom product opportunities. Coordinate execution with internal teams. Summarize sales activity for management regularly, and report comparisons to annual forecast. Serve as key person for DC Direct trade show activities – including development and coordination of all selling materials, product requirements, signage, AV materials, promotional products, etc.
Requirements
BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or other related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years’ related sales and account management experience with specialty, mass, gift or book accounts - preferably with toy, collectible or pop-culture product. Experience with EDI system for retailer service preferred. Must have exceptional customer service, negotiations and relationship building skills, required. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills, required. Must possess strong organizational skills and be able to manage own workload, self-prioritize and achieve results, required. Must be a team-player, able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy and time sensitive environment with a cross-divisional and interdependent team, required. Must be able and willing to take direction and handle many projects simultaneously, required. Must be flexible and open to change, required. Ability to conceptualize creative solutions to client needs – including custom products and merchandising programs as needed. Strong attention to detail needed. Must have excellent computer skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, required. Ability to travel up to 50% on occasion. Ability to work overtime as needed.
