NewPage owns paper mills located in Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nova Scotia and Wisconsin. These mills have a total annual production capacity of approximately 5.5 million short tons of paper, including approximately 4.3 million short tons of coated paper, approximately 920,000 short tons of uncoated paper and approximately 300,000 short tons of specialty paper, as well as approximately 3.2 million short tons of pulp.

 

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Account Representative serves as the primary, day-to-day contact for a specific customer base.  The AR is responsible for managing all service requirements for their customers, including issues and tasks related to customer inquiries and orders.  The AR must cultivate an effective relationship with their customers so as to help drive sales and customer confidence in NewPage.  A significant effort is made to secure new business opportunities by responding rapidly to customer requests, and identifying options when the primary product does not meet requested delivery requirements.  The AR supports the sales organization goals through strategic outbound sales calls and through up-selling opportunities.  The AR anticipates future customer needs based on interaction and experience with customer base.  Develops and maintains effective relationships with key internal contacts including: planning and scheduling, logistics, sales and marketing, and finance. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:Responds to customer inquiries concerning order status and product availability. Processes orders accurately and tracks orders through order fulfillment process.  Processes and tracks the disposition of field rejects and transit damage material.Researches customer complaints and settles customer disputes.Process corrective actions.Communicates collaboratively with planning and scheduling, logistics, sales and marketing, technical field service, mill personnel and finance to manage all day-to-day customer-facing issues.Maintains effective, strong customer relationship with sales, customers, and order management personnel.Retrieves data from various sources for customer, sales, and management use.  Attempts to obtain competitive intelligence that may aid in developing strategies. Performs other account and project management tasks as necessary.  Assumes coverage for other account representatives in their absence.  Ensures Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Four-year degree preferred and 2+ to 5 years of previous experience desired
