Application Support Analyst
Merrill Corporation a leader in print, fulfillment and document services industry has an immediate opening for an Application Support Analyst for our Monroe, WA location.APPLICATION SUPPORT ANALYSTProvide timely local systems support by responding to end user questions and problems via phone, e-mail and desk side, solving hardware and software issues predominantly application-based. Troubleshoot and repair local server and systems issues, escalating and collaborating with corporate Information Technology. Perform maintenance and upgrades to insure compliance with Merrill Corporate standards. Assists management with analysis reporting and process evaluation. Provides local business continuity planning and support administering network backup systems design and implementation working in conjunction with the corporate technical resources. Deciphers, creates and maintains local network/system administration procedures and procedures, documentation and logs for other areas of responsibility. Position is full time 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, possible overtime or off-hours work when required to support the technical environment. REQUIREMENTS Experience in supporting MS Windows server and workstation platforms, some Linux experience required Concepts and administration of computer and network operating systems and applications. Practices and methods of systems administration and maintenance and monitoring Data storage and integrity administration principles Advanced knowledge of but not limited to the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, communication client applications, diagnostic and reporting tools, remote management and SMS, IIS and Web Services Basic understanding of SQL, VB, Batch and Windows scripting Possess advanced technical knowledge and troubleshooting of computer servers and work stations, network routing protocols, printers, fax and copy machines, routers, firewalls and telephones Remote server/systems administration Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and telephone skills to ensure excellent customer service Ability to communicate issues and solutions to all levels of the organization as appropriate Ability to keep current with networking and systems administration technologies and expand skills as required by business need Analyze, interpret and present research findings into clear, concise reports Able to take direction and ask for assistance when needed Ability to recognize priority issues and escalate accordingly Ability to work under pressure and develop solutions independently Ability to handle a dynamic environment, be self motivated and proactive Ability to work quickly and accurately with a desire to learn new skills Ability to maintain strict confidentiality standards Ability to lift up to 40 poundsDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS 2 + years network/systems administrative support experience A+ and NET+ Certification or equivalent SQL and database administration and development concepts Understanding of networking concepts, protocols and server management Understanding of PBX and VOIP concepts with minimum 2 years experience in telephone system support Cable management including but not limited to wiring standards and testing Previous distribution center or warehouse system support experience a plus OVERVIEWThis position is responsible for managing, diagnosing and repairing systems, networking, servers, distribution systems, backbone, telephone equipment, and other devices as needed with core system support primary. This includes Software support, client/server ERP systems support, advanced reporting and tasks as assigned. The successful candidate will provide second level support; perform trouble-shooting activities including responding to end user questions and problems via phone and email, resolving hardware problems, assisting end-users with software features and functionality and escalating other problems to the appropriate specialist or technician with corporate Information Technology groups. This position reports to the Information Technology Manager.
