Currently, we have a career opportunity for an Archivist Specialist for the Content Management Group in our New York City office.



Your tasks
The Archivist collects, verifies and safely stores book content in the Random House Smart Archive across all divisions and supports the systems, workflows and processes around Content Management. Additionally, this position collaborates to continually refine processes for collecting and distributing book content.

This position also interfaces with division contacts to resolve quality issues and is responsible for on-going backup of content as it is captured for offsite storage. You will work closely with the team to ensure that eBook content processes are integrated with other content collection and repurposing. You will also be responsible for some production work on PDF files to recombine and tag content as we work to develop new content distribution models. Additional ad-hoc projects, as required.

Responsibilities include issuing and monitoring schedules for archiving and ensuring a timely archiving process, maintaining project files and files on server for workflow, trafficking materials internally and across various vendors, examining workflow processes for improvement, workflow documentation, data analysis for reporting and optimization, testing software solutions.

Our requirements
The ideal candidate is a self-directed, self-organized, independent worker with very strong attention to detail and strong computer capabilities (Quark, Acrobat, Illustrator and InDesign) and is open to new technologies.

You must have demonstrated ability to work in a deadline driven environment with shifting priorities and heavy volume. Strong verbal and written communication skills, a must. Four year degree required. Prior related experience, a plus.
