Position Description

 

Experienced Inkjet Stitcher Operator needed on 2nd shift. The successful candidate will enjoy a rewarding and challenging work environment that recognizes great performance. Examples of job duties included in this hands-on leadership role are:

·Develop job execution plan based on information available with respect to customer requirements, delivery methods, machine capability, etc.
·Set up, run and perform routine maintenance of stitching machine, inkjet printers and all auxiliary equipment.
·Train and develop helpers to ensure most efficient operation of equipment and highest quality books are being produced.
·Communicate information appropriately and as necessary (i.e. helpers, supervisors, managers, other departments.)
·Complete paperwork and perform administrative duties as necessary.
·Perform routine quality checks according to Company guidelines; take corrective action as necessary.
·Troubleshoot machine problems and communicate job and machine issues between shifts.
·Participate in ad-hoc committees and groups focusing on continuous improvement. For example, safety, process and quality.
·Be willing to assist and/or operate other machines and crewmembers as needed.

 

Requirements and Preferences


Required Technical Skills/Experience:
·Specific knowledge of commercial printing, mailing regulations and graphic arts gained either through formal study or job experience.
·Minimum of five years of experience in the set-up, operation, trouble-shooting and maintenance of high-speed saddle stitchers with ink jetting capabilities.
·Basic knowledge of basic postal regulations.
·Basic computer skills.
·Good mechanical aptitude, math skills and the ability to read a ruler.

Preferred Technical Skills/Experience
·Experience with Domino FastPro 6000 and/or VideoJet VIP NT inkjetting systems.
·Experience with Domino Jetarray and/or VideoJet Print Pro printers.
·Experience with Harris and/or Muller high speed saddle stitchers
