Bundlers

Courier Stoughton, a leading book manufacturer located in Stoughton, MA, has immediate openings for two Bundlers.  Courier Stoughton, a division of Courier Corporation, is a 175-employee facility, which prints and binds paperback books for the education and college markets.

 

The Bundlers will be responsible for baling quality printed signatures off press and assist press crew with make-ready, operation and housekeeping duties.

 

Specific job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Review job ticket for customer name, job number & quantity and end board sizeEnsure that proper end boards and pallets are in place prior to beginning jobCreate bale tags indicating signature number and bale number as requiredAssist press crew with blanket washing, plate set-up, signature and bale count verification, mounting plates on cylinders, throwing make-ready signatures into waste bin, cleaning water system and ink and oil drip trays between unitsAdjust jogging table to single or double parallel based on the jobInstall strapping wire into strapper when neededCheck belt from folder to jogging table for defects Check signatures for quality defectsBale signatures in accordance with job specs, not to exceed 50 lbs, position bales on pallet according to established configuration defined by size of run, mark spine of each bale with signature number and move full pallets of bales using hand jackGrease and/or oil all gears on strapping equipment according to lubrication scheduleMonitor and maintain clean rag supply on pressesTake direction from the press operatorAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.



A high school diploma or GED is required.  The ideal candidate will have effective written and oral communication skills and Basic math skills.
