Corporate Purchasing Buyer
• Reporting to the V.P. of Direct Mail Production and Purchasing, the selected candidate will buy corporate materials and services that consistently meet AFFINITY price, schedule and quality standards.
• Acts as agent for AFFINITY in the purchase of products and services from suppliers
• Receives and reviews requisitions for computer components, software, office supplies, collateral print, premiums, etc.
• Reviews routine to complex proposals, negotiates prices and recommends suppliers
• Develop and implement plans and strategies for identifying equipment and services needed to complete projects.
• Negotiate agreements with outside contractors and suppliers for services, product and materials needed to complete projects.
• Ensure the proper execution of purchase orders and the timely delivery of goods and services needed for projects.
• Reviews and approves artwork in accordance with specifications
• Obtains necessary approvals from customers and manager
• Follows-up on orders placed
• Resolves discrepancies with invoices and monitors suppliers performance
• Experience with procedures and operations of shipping and receiving required

QUALIFICATIONS
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a BS/BA degree in Business, Logistics or equivalent experience in related field and minimum of two years’ buying experience. Certification in Purchasing a Plus. Requires strong knowledge of PCs, Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as solid math, statistical and analytical skills. Must have solid written/verbal communication and multi-tasking skills and the ability to precisely follow directions and guidelines. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and accept additional tasks, duties and/or direction from management. Strict adherence to deadlines essential. Must be able to communicate with management, employees and vendors, while maintaining confidentiality.
