Customer Service Representative

Research and Education Association (REA, Inc.), located near Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey, is a highly respected publisher of educational materials.  We are currently recruiting for a Customer Service Representative to join our team.  The Customer Service Representative is responsible for ensuring that services provided to all internal and external customers of REA including customer relations and problem resolution meet company standards.  The Customer Service Representative will have in-depth knowledge of company products and programs.  The Customer Service Representative will partner with the Sales team to provide customers with exceptional service.  The Customer Service Representative will address customer issues and ensure effective and long term problem resolution.

 

Some of the essential responsibilities for this position include:Interacting with customers via phone, mail and internet regarding products, orders and customer service needs.Processing customer orders, changes and returns according to policy and procedure.  Processing credits for returns,short shipments, damaged and defective products.Preparing written correspondence to answer specific questions for all customers (both wholesale and retail).

Qualified candidates will possess:  HS Diploma or equivalent; 3+ years prior experience in a busy customer service environment; Computer experience including Windows, MS Word, MS Excel and internet.  SAP experience strongly preferred; Strong customer orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work within a team.
