Join a leader in the printing industry.  Trend Offset Printing company is listed as one of the top 50 largest printers in the US.  We're a full-service printer in the Jacksonville, Florida area currently seeking a Cutter Operator.  The right candidate should have experience working with a MBO cutter. 

 

Job Purpose:

Provides cut materials by setting up and operating a cutting machine.



Duties:

* Determines dimensions of sheets by studying work orders.



* Positions roll on rack by inserting shaft into core; hoisting roll.



* Positions material by threading end of material through feed rollers and under or across cutting blades; aligning material against guides.



* Regulates length and width of cut by adjusting tension of material; synchronizing timing of cutting blades with rate of material feed.



* Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run cut, and sample sheets.



* Collects cut material by adjusting takeoff mechanism.



* Maintains production and quality by observing machine operation; detecting malfunctions; adjusting settings; replacing worn blades.



* Resolves production problems by altering process to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.



* Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.



* Maintains stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.



* Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.



* Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.



* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
