Desktop Operator

QUALITY:

· Create page layouts, charts, graphics, logos, mastheads and illustrations.

· Ability to design templates and stylesheets.

· Versioning, typesetting and inputting text.

· Proofreading and checking your work against the job jackets

· Troubleshoot client files and output devices.

TIME MANAGEMENT:

· Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

· Must be detail oriented.

· Must be able to work overtime hours and occasional weekends.

COMMUNICATION:

· Ability to work with others as well as independently.

· Proficient in interpreting client change order instructions from client notes, layouts and phone conversations.

 

Experience & Skills required

- Must have knowledge of and be able to use proficiently:  Quark Express, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator,
  Pagemaker, Acrobat, InDesign, Extensis Portfolio and Flight Check.

- Must have knowledge of PC programs such as: Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

- Ability to run and operate the proofers 3G, 4G, Epson 7600 & 9000 as well as the RIPs and Dolev
  output devices.

- Working knowledge of Network and peripheral devices.

- Knowledge of fonts, kerning, egauges, bold, italic, etc.
