Random House Books is the largest trade book publisher in the United States (as well as the world). The vast majority of our books are sold through retailers, both online and offline, but we also sell directly to consumers through our websites. The Digital Group is at the hub of Random House's corporate-wide digital and on-line efforts. We are responsible for researching and exploring market trends and the impact of emerging technologies on the Publishing industry's traditional business model, educating our internal clients, identifying new platforms for conducting business and revealing potential opportunities. We currently seek a Digital Analyst for our New York-based corporate headquarters. Your tasks
This position supports the VP, Digital in research and reporting, creating detailed presentations and various ad-hoc projects and interacts with publishers, sales and finance. The primary focus of this opportunity is in researching and writing presentations including conducting web research, collecting data, and monitoring trends. In addition, you will support the VP, Business Operations and the Direct To Consumer Group, on an as needed basis.

Our requirements
The ideal candidate is a recent college graduate with a four-year degree. Media/Business major a must. The department seeks a bright and talented business minded individual with a demonstrated passion for the media/on-line/digital community. We seek someone who is media savvy, can think through business issues, and is familiar with current trends and practices in the marketplace. A team-player, who can work independently and possesses creative flair is highly desirable. You must have a strong interest in and be comfortable with technology. You must also be comfortable within a corporate setting of a mature industry. Knowledge of Powerpoint required, Excel strongly preferred. 1-2 years prior office experience is preferred, but consideration will be given to a smart and enthusiastic college grad. Interest in books, a plus.
