Working in partnership with the global science and health communities, Elsevier's 7,000 employees in over 70 offices worldwide publish more than 2,000 journals and 1,900 new books per year, in addition to offering a suite of innovative electronic products, such as ScienceDirect, MD Consult, Scopus, bibliographic databases, and online reference works.Responsibilities Deliver pre-set and mutually agreed upon goals (including financial and usage) by implementing an account development & channel marketing strategy to promote growth and usage of Elsevier electronic product line and other product offerings to current clients. Implement seminars and training programs to promote usage and value among current clients. Create and deploy marketing actions and public relations programs that enhance Elsevier positioning and exposure to the library/information services industry, to develop both usage of product as well as to market products in the region. Serve internal communications role for RSO. Interact with Internal marketing groups (Product and PMG) to develop channel marketing strategies and implementation. Provide a main source for Marketing leadership for the region. Account Development Strategy: Contribute to the development of customer focused account development strategies aimed at positioning Elsevier as the superior source in meeting the customer?s informational needs; Oversee analyses and monitor usage to evaluate and develop strategies to increase value; Determine and analyze specialized needs of strategic customers for the region. Partner internally and externally to deploy marketing actions to meet these needs; Conduct tailored seminars for library/information service customers that enable customers to maximize the value of their ES services. Channel Marketing: Develop marketing strategy and deploy actions to develop usage as well as market products within a region; Act a liaison between internal and external customers to provide superior service. Deliver customer feedback to the company; Enhance visibility of Elsevier in the marketplace through trade shows and conferences and other avenues. Sales and Marketing Coordination: Collaborate and communicate with Account Managers to deploy actions to ensure and enhance value for a customer; Collaborate with Marketing groups (PMG, Product, etc?) to develop effective regional marketing; Provide necessary mentoring and training to ensure optimal competencies necessary to achieve account development channel marketing goals; Communicate specialized needs of customers to RSO and VP of sales and Regional Sales Directors and sales to coordinate customer focused sales strategies; Work with RSO and Sales Directors and Account Managers to demonstrate technology/content products in support of major customer contract negotiations; Provide monthly reports. Fiscal Responsibility: Develop and manage budget, including tracking and re-forecasting, meeting documentation requirements.Qualifications Strong manager, goal oriented, target driven, team player, conceptual seller, social skills General Knowledge and Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of marketing; Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills. Strong negotiation skills. Working knowledge of hardware, software and electronic delivery. PowerPoint presentation skills are necessary, general knowledge of MS Word and Excel, MLIS or experience in information industry preferred.
