Position Title: Director, Finance

 

Location: Pleasantville, New York   

 

Supervisory Role: Three managers and one senior staff person

Project management and interaction with other departments

 

Job Description:

 

OverallReports to the VP Corporate ControllerSupervises three key functions – external reporting, consolidations and analysisEnsuring and maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley with respect to disclosure and reporting controlsPerforming special projects for the Controller/CFO on an as needed basis (e.g., acquisitions/divestitures, researching potential accounting and auditing issues).Ensuring the complete and accurate implementation of all new accounting requirementsOversee worldwide reporting for benefit plans and coordinate relationships with outside actuaryAct as liaison with external auditors regarding reporting and accounting issuesMaintain and ensure timely resolution of internal control matters raised by external and internal auditorsWork closely with Tax, Treasury, Finance Systems, Accounting Resource Centers, International CFOs to ensure the integrity of financial information, resolve accounting issues and provide financial/accounting advice.

 

External Reporting – supervise two managersMaintain and improve the quality of external reporting, as well as stay current on the technical issues that impact RDAOverseeing the drafting and filing of all external reporting documents including annual reports, 10K’s and 10Q’s.Interpreting technical accounting literature, preparing summaries, and working with the operations people to assess the impact on RDAOversight of the Finance Intranet siteWorking directly with other departments to gather data to support external reporting initiatives (e.g., investor relations, global communications, operations finance, business planning and analysis, legal).Orchestrate various initiatives including enhancing our financial policies, establishing a center for interpreting accounting guidance with our operating units

Consolidation Maintain and improve the quality of the monthly, quarterly and annual close processesOverseeing the completion of the consolidation of all RDA global entities (second level reviewing of consolidated  results and journal entries)Oversight and understanding of the company-wide closing process and balance sheetReview and justify to external auditors the company’s position with respect to restructuring reserve usage and additional requirementsParticipate in directing efforts to maintain the integrity and accuracy of reporting systems.

Financial Analysis – supervise a managerSupervise the quarterly and annual analysis of financial results including key analyticals – income statement, balance sheet and cash flow (i.e., timely publication of the “Analyst Book”)Review and publish the key external/internal statements – income statement, balance sheet, cash flow external and internal, and equity rollforwardPrepare executive summary of results to senior managementOversee the MD&A collection and analysis process to ensure the integrity of local business reasons for variancesLiaison with Business, Planning & Analysis to maintain overall knowledge of actuals, latest forecast and budget informationEnsure that all reporting systems – enterprise, corporate cube and country cubes – are in balance upon execution of segment/accounting restatements

 

QualificationsMinimum of 8-10 years experience – public (Big 4) and/or private accounting mixBachelor’s degree and CPA requiredMBA a plusExperience with SEC reporting matters with publicly held multinational companySuperior technical, analytical and interpersonal skills requiredSystems, a plus but not required – Hyperion Enterprise (consolidation) and Essbase (reporting)
