NewPage owns paper mills located in Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nova Scotia and Wisconsin. These mills have a total annual production capacity of approximately 5.5 million short tons of paper, including approximately 4.3 million short tons of coated paper, approximately 920,000 short tons of uncoated paper and approximately 300,000 short tons of specialty paper, as well as approximately 3.2 million short tons of pulp.

 

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for staffing performance at a strategic level, leveraging a variety of recruitment delivery methods. The Staffing Director will consult with HR and business leaders to understand the strategic staffing priorities and then deliver optimized staffing solutions to the business. This working leader will set strategy as well as stay connected to the daily business needs through recruitment of openings throughout the organization.  Position is part of a matrix organization with up to three direct reports

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

­ Develop and continuously drive a recruitment strategy for the NewPage organization. Work with business leaders and HR   partners to determine recruitment needs and appropriate strategies for attracting top talent in each discipline.

 

­ Management of all recruitment-related vendors including on-line search engines/job boards, applicant tracking tools,   external search firms, pre-employment providers and relocation vendor. Manage annual contracting process as well as   continuous improvement of service delivery for each vendor.

 

­ Work with individual hiring managers to understand specific open position needs and deliver a strong slate of qualified   candidates for consideration.  Provide full life cycle recruiting for senior level positions.

 

­ Oversight of a matrixed project team dedicated to college recruitment. Define strategy, ensure appropriate resources are   allocated and drive innovative approaches to reaching the college market.

 

­ In partnership with Corporate Communications, develop a recruitment brand strategy.  Ensure that electronic and print   recruitment materials are current, compelling and available across the organization. 

 

­ Develop a consistent onboarding process for all new hires including pre-employment processes, day one experience and   assimilation practices.

 

­ Ensure full compliance with applicant tracking and employment laws.

 

­ Contribute to the development of and manage to an annual AAP plan.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

­ BA BS/ in Business, Human Resources or related discipline; MBA preferred

 

­ 10 -15 years of related experience, demonstrated success at developing proactive recruitment strategies and delivering   strong recruitment-related metrics.

 

­ 5+ years of staff management experience (preferably in recruitment)

 

 

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

­ Demonstrated technical understanding of electronic recruitment tools, applicant tracking systems and sourcing techniques.

 

­ Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills

 

­ Strong influencing skills and excellent team-orientation

 

­ Strong innovation and initiative skills

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Up to 20%
