A global leader in efficient and effective document management by offering innovative print and document products and services for professional environments.  This position is located in downtown Chicago.

 

The Position

 

The Director of Purchasing develops policies, procedures and objectives for the operation of the purchasing group in accordance with departmental, corporate objectives and limits of authority. The right candidate will have very strong negotiations, leadership and cost management skills and history. Experience  within the service industry as well as the ability to re-designing an optimum purchasing department.

 

This position is a management position and requires experience managing purchasing professionals.  The experienced Indirect commodities requiring previous experience are as follows : travel agency, airlines, hotel, office space, warehouse, T&E cards, cards, facility – janitorial, cafeteria, water etc), consulting, temp employees, business stationary, office materials/supplies, incentive and event travel and utilities.  The spend for this position is $175-200 Million. 

 

The Director of Purchasing will report to the VP of Purchasing and will work within a matrix structure. 

 

Requirements

 

A Bachelor’s Degree is a mandatory degree needed for the position, advanced degree is a plus.  The proper candidate will have 8 to 10 years experience. The candidate will possess good analytical process, be organized and multi-task oriented.
