RESPONSIBILITIESThe Production Center Driver is responsible for the delivery of all projects directly to customers in a timely and professional manner. This role encompasses interaction with the customers, Print Production Coordinators, and Managment regarding prioritizing delivery schedule and special needs. The driver is responsible for final quality check to insure that order is complete and that all components are loaded into the delivery vehicle. Equipment and Tools Utilized: Van or straight truck under 24 ft. long, writing instruments, pallet jack, pallets, skids, knife, hand truck, copier, fax, telephone, computer and if appropriate, hand held package scanner.Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Customer Service and Sales-80% -Sort freight and load truck according to route sequence.-Deliver jobs to customers (Residential and Commercial), in a prompt, safe, business like, and friendly manner. Top priority should be given to taking care of the customer’s needs.-Turn in all delivery receipts and manifests to the appropriate supervisor.-Keep the truck and associated equipment in proper working order. Report any problems to the Supervisor. Keep the cab and the cargo area clean and free of clutter.-Drive the truck in a safe, lawful, and courteous manner. Always remembering that the people will judge us by the way you handle the vehicle.-Hand manifest all deliveries for the day.-Driver will be responsible to complete final QC inspection of the jobs confirming that all details of the job have been fulfilled. -Driver will be responsible to insure that all boxes are labeled correctly and match to delivery requirements on the job ticket. -Driver will be responsible to load and verify packages against manifest prior to leaving.-Conduct business in a professional and courteous manner and attitude.-Regular attendance.-Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner.-Recognize potential opportunities while on deliveries and report them to the Customer Service Representative or General Manager. Operations-10% -Work with CSR and GM to most efficiently schedule delivery routes to meet customer requirements.-In down periods, provide assistance on the production floor.-Give professional presentation by complying with dress code requirements.Training and Development-10% -Complete all required training per the L&D Curriculum and complete necessary certifications. -Attend vendor training workshops to increase knowledge of vendor related programs and services.-Attend production center team meetings. QUALIFICATIONSEssential Skills Required: 1. Basic knowledge of the Copy/Print industry. Able to provide basic consultation to customers if needed.2. Basic computer skills required to access Internet/E-mail, shipping and job tracking software. 3. Computer application skilled4. Time-line conscience5. Quality Control oriented6. Strong communication skills with internal/external company associates and customers7. Physically fit.8. Safe driving record (with no major moving violations).9. Math and mechanical aptitude.10. Step heights of (7.5 in.), and up to (16 steps/flight).GRASP-Requires hand grasping of boxes, product, truck controls, hand truck, pallet jack, etc. up to (7 hr.) over (8 hr.).PINCH-Requires finger pinching of writing instruments, paper, etc. up to (1 hr.) over (8 hr.).FOOT-Requires ability to depress the brake and throttle pedals on the truck, with the right foot. The throttle pedal requires (15 lb.) of force to depress. The brake pedal requires (30 lb.) of force to depress.VISION-Requires near acuity to view product identification labels, paperwork, occasional computer screen, etc. Requires field of vision and far acuity to operate truck.COMM-Requires ability to communicate with fellow associates and customers.HEAR-Requires ability to hear material handling equipment noise and horn for safety in the warehouse and ability to hear on road while performing delivery.
