ETL Specialist

North Jersey Media Group provides a broad spectrum of news and information products to serve the needs of communities all across North Jersey.  With several different IT initiatives underway, we seek a strong troubleshooter and problem-solver to join our team.

The ETL Specialist will be directly responsible for the development and support of all ETL processes for the enterprise-wide Datawarehouse and for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to system performance, ETL applications, and data integrity. Using Business Objects Data Integrator, the ETL Specialist will design & automate all data mobilization (ETL) processes, including physical data mapping, extraction routines, transformations, standardizations / cleansing, staging, and load routines.

The ETL Specialist will manage the Data Integrator repositories as well as formulate, implement and document ETL standards, procedures and best practices for the group. In a team environment, the candidate will assist in project planning, system design and data modeling, and implementation of software upgrades.

Requirements:Must have 5 + years experience ETL development experience using Business Objects Data Integrator. excellent knowledge of relational databases including experience in creating highly optimized database structures, star schemas etc. (SQL, Oracle preferred). sound understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and principles; excellent SQL scripting skills, proficiency in writing stored procedures, views, and optimizing database queries, as well as troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Experience in the circulation, newspaper, manufacturing or marketing fields is a plus. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
