We are currently looking for an editorial researcher to join our highly-regarded fact checking team. The ideal candidate will have solid research skills and a strong attention to detai as well as a passion for quality. Candidates with an understanding of the overall fact checking process and those with a background or knowledge in health sciences and an interest in consumer products and the consumer marketplace are encouraged to apply.

- Fact-checks reports for Consumer Reports, Special Publications, and other information products.

- Performs work on research projects.

- Works on additional Editorial projects as necessary. May include writing original text of less than 1,000 words per month, and assists in organizing other editorial publications.

- When necessary, performs other activities of the department, but not those of a higher group level.

- Performs computer-related work.

College graduate; graduate credits preferred; experience doing research for a magazine, newspaper or web publication. Must demonstrate good research skills and the ability to learn fact-checking procedures. Experience in gathering information by telephone, library, and online. Must be able to translate complex statistical and technical data. Needs to be strongly detail oriented, thorough and resourceful. Must work well under rigid deadline pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial.
