Executive Editor: Executive Editors oversee development of new and revised titles and ensure release to production goals are achieved. Contribute to marketing/promotional planning by communicating product knowledge to marketing and sales to ensure that sales goals are obtained. This position is responsible to hire, train, manage and support editors; provide guidance and leadership with the editorial process including reviewing potential and existing projects, production releases, and contract negotiations, manage performance of the editors, write performance evaluations and oversee key author relationships. They achieve sales and profitability goals for the product line by determining new books to be signed, and developing new and revised titles and monitor operating budget and product line income statement. Qualifications: BA/BS required. At least 7 years experience in educational publishing, including at least three years in editorial/acquisitions. To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competences: project management, oral communication, written communication, management change, leadership, managing people, quality management, visionary leadership, cost consciousness, strategic thinking and judgment. Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet. Experience with software developed for the higher education and/or business markets.
